The second game, Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf, continues with the same story, but the world of Lana has transformed. Technology is embedded in everything these days and not everyone is leveraging it properly, in the case of Novo. When Lana’s young girl cousin is sick after radioactive waste is dumped into her backyard, along with her cat-like companion, Mui, the duo embarks on a quest to seek a remedy. Take an older, more active Lana on a journey through jungles, icy mountains, deep oceans, and ancient ruins.
They don’t speak any words here. The story is communicated via movement, music, and the environment. Control animals and machines, hack drones, distract enemies, and reach places that Lana can’t, with Mui. Evade lethal robots and make it through action-packed movie set dungeons without getting too close for comfort. The hand-painted artwork is beautiful, and the orchestral score from the composer behind The Last Guardian, makes every scene feel massive. There is no need for new players to play the first game to get into the game. Come on in to Novo – let’s find that cure!
